TV Retuning Postponed

Update:  The retune finally occurred on 14 August 2020 so things will settle down for the foreseeable future. Note that the simulcasts referred to below have now ceased.

Further to my recent blog TV Retunes, the retune scheduled for this Wednesday, 22 April, has been postponed, probably until 2021.

This will come as a relief to anyone who found that the retune on March 17 showed up the inadequacy of their aerial (which was the main purpose of that retune), as you will now have more time to get the problem fixed. And you won’t have to do so during lockdown, with the risk that having an engineer into your house to perform the work might entail.

To recap: if you have lost the standard definition BBC Freeview channels on 1, 2, 9, 201, 202 and 231, use the HD equivalents if possible (see table below). Otherwise, use 751-759, which are simulcasts of the missing ones. Here is the full list of those channels, including radio.
